Capital funding and a support programme is available from the Learning
Skills Council (LSC). It is to support development of e-learning in
organisations offering LSC funded adult learning, and to help maximise
the benefit to your learners of the capital investment.

Organisations which are eligible to bid for this funding are:

    * English local authorities delivering LSC-funded adult learning
    * Regions of the Workers Educational Association (WEA) that
deliver adult learning
    * Voluntary and community sector organisations that hold a direct
contract with the LSC for the delivery of adult learning
    * Voluntary and community sector organisation sub-contracted to
deliver LSC-funded adult learning.

Examples of how grants can be spent include:

    * Establishing computers in class rooms
    * Installing other hardware in teaching rooms (e.g. whiteboards)
    * Installing networks and servers
    * Installing hardware to improve connectivity
    * Purchasing laptops
    * Purchasing handheld devices
    * Setting up an equipment loan scheme.

There are different funding bands which can be applied to. For each
band there is a requirement to make a revenue payment to NIACE
equivalent to 15% of the maximum amount in the band you are applying
to. This is to cover support for the programme.

The deadline is 11 September 2009.

See the NIACE website for more information:

NIACE are managing the programme on behalf of the LSC.
