The 2009 Young Achievers Awards are now open for nominations.

The Awards are run by the Young Achievers Trust and recognise
inspirational volunteers, activists and social entrepreneurs aged
16-25 years-old. Nominations are open until 27th September 2009.

Eight winners will each receive:

- A £1,000 cash prize for their projects

- “Money Can’t Buy” opportunities such as a guided tour and lunch at
the House of Lords with Lord Macdonald, a trip to St James Palace to
meet the Duke of Edinburgh, a day shadowing Tony Juniper, head of
Friends of the Earth, or going behind the scenes at ITN news

- A year’s support for their future projects.

A further 24 runners up and shortlisted young people will receive cash
prizes and development opportunities.
