Hi all, can anyone very kindly tell me if I need all of these items
(below) to run a decent talk web radio station.

• Professional Mixing Desk
• Full Professional Dual Screen Myriad Playout System
• Ripper software (copies audio tracks from a CD onto a computer’s hard
drive)
• Twin CD Players
• Microphones, Mic Arms &
• Headphones
• TBU for recording or broadcasting telephone calls
• Clock & Lights For On-air And Phone
• Outboard audio gear (equalizer, compressor, etc.)
• Dedicated computer with encoder software
• Streaming media server
• Digital audio card
• Assorted recording and editing software

My desire is to run a talk radio station to sit three guests at anytime,
and to take callers on to the programme.

It has been suggested that a laptop, for example, is better than a
desktop, and should rather be used than new; a sound card rather than an digital
audio card (are they all the same?); and should invest in very good
microphones. Now I'd very appreciate some suggestions for a 'very good' microphone.
I am a broadcast journalist. As you can see I know very little about the
'techniques' of the production!
Lastly any ideas about how much all these would cost?

I would very appreciate your help.

My best wishes to you all.

Sonny.
