Re-engaging and reconnecting with ethnic minorities in media

Tuesday September 16 2008, London

The MediaGuardian Ethnic Media Summit is less than 2 weeks away and
interest in the event is high.

As a Summit partner, the Community Media Association is attending this
event in order to keep our membership abreast of how new and existing
ethnic platforms are adapting to the challenges of capacity building
and sustainability in an increasingly fragmented online world.

This summit will aim to debate the importance of equal representation,
inclusion and portrayal of ethnic minority groups within UK media.

We are delighted that so many influential and thought-provoking
speakers have agreed to take part including:

    * Kamal Ahmed, group director of communications, Equality and
Human Rights Commission
    * Mohamed Ali, CEO, Islam Channel
    * Claude Grunitzky, editor-in-chief, Trace and founder, The True Agency
    * Trevor Phillips, chair, Equality and Human Rights Commission
    * Jaqui Devereux, director, Community Media Association
    * Leslie Bunder, SomethingJewish
