The Bristol community radio station BCfm 93.2 has won a national
award for a special programme about Lourdes.

BCfm's 'Face to Faith' followed Bristol people to Lourdes as they went
on pilgrimage to mark the 150th anniversary of the apparitions.
Presenter and producer Tom Bigwood interviewed people ranging from the
airplane pilot flying the pilgrims to France, to the Bishop of Clifton
Right Reverend Declan Lang, as well as the faithful travellers
themselves.

The special edition, 'Face to Faith Direct from Lourdes', was
broadcast in August and can still be heard at
http://www.facetofaith.org.uk.

The silver award for best speech/magazine radio programme was made by
the Christian Broadcasting Council at a ceremony in Manchester on
Friday night .

BCfm's Station Manager Phil Gibbons said: "This national award for
'Face to Faith' is great news for BCfm and our listeners. It confirms
that, even in the year and bit we've been on air, BCfm has produced
top quality unique radio, bringing more voices and a greater choice to
Bristolians.

"This honour from the Christian Broadcasting Council comes hot on the
heels of BCfm's win at the 'Voscurs' a new award to celebrate the
fantastic and innovative work done by the voluntary, community and
social enterprise sector in Bristol.

"It's wonderful that the hard work of our 100-plus volunteers is being
recognised in these ways."

BCfm's 'Face to Faith' is broadcast at 3pm on Mondays, 11am on
Tuesdays and 4pm on Sunday. BCfm can be heard on 93.2fm in the city of
Bristol and enjoyed around the world at www.bcfm.org.uk. BCfm is
Bristol's first community radio station. It has just two employees but
150 volunteers. It began broadcasting in March 2007. BCfm offers
access to air time, direct community involvement, training and the
desired community led output of the audience. BCfm gives the people of
Bristol the choice and the voice to get involved and make a
difference.
