Hi Lucinda,

I swear by the Soundcraft RM105 console because its dead simple to teach 
  on, its rock hard and delivers excellent quality audio. Everything you
need...and its good old analogue too.

I got 3 of these from Studiocare (http://www.studiocare.com/) and expect 
to pay between £3000 and £5000 depending on frame size. (It goes up to 
24 inputs).
