SBES – Moving Onwards

Plans for SBES2008, the annual Sound Broadcasting Equipment Show, to
be held at the NEC in Birmingham this November are moving on apace.

This small, but important niche exhibition dedicated to sound
broadcasting continues to attract all the major manufacturers and
distributors of sound equipment for broadcasting in its widest sense.

From the microphone to the transmission system there will be
exhibitors at SBES2008 with information, advice, demonstrations and
products to suit the needs of anyone involved in sound broadcasting
and, more especially, anyone wanting to start their own radio
station/studio.

SBES2008 will have something for everyone involved in creating,
presenting and distributing sound for radio and TV. Visitors will be
able to see and try all types of equipment used in creating
programmes. Visitors can discuss with the experts how software
systems can be used and adapted to meet their specific needs. They
can discuss directly with the manufacturers exactly how this or that
product works and even offer up their own ideas for products of the
future.

Exhibitors who have already announced their intention to be at
SBES2008 include Sonifex, manufacturers of the Red Boxes and the S1
Broadcast Audio Mixer and, of course, excellent digital Telephone
Hybrids; Sennheiser, synonymous with excellent microphones for use
in the studio and radio mics for drama and o/bs; HHB are also known as
'the Source' and will, no doubt, be showing their Flash Mic digital
recording microphone as well as the Portadrive location sound recorder
amongst other items; West Country Broadcasting provides design,
consultation, construction, installation, technical support and
maintenance services to broadcasters and are the worldwide
distributors of AUTOPLUS Broadcast software. Other broadcasting
software suppliers at SBES2008 will include P Squared and Broadcast
Bionics.

'Anything Audio' is the byword for Cunnings Recording Associates who
distribute an enormous range of useful audio products including
Marantz portable recorders and a wide range of microphones.

Studer and Soundcraft will be showing both digital and analogue
consoles. From Spain AEQ too will be showing the ARENA digital
console and other broadcasting equipment such as IP Audio Codecs and
the Bravo analogue mixer. Vortex Communications manufactures and
supplies video and audio equipment to broadcasters and system builders
worldwide. They have a wide range of audio interfaces for mobile
phones making reporting a lot easier. Audessence designs, manufactures
and sells audio processing and broadcast products to make life easier
for audio and radio professionals. Their product range is expanding
all the time, and already includes designs which can be used for a
variety of purposes, from traditional broadcasting applications to
Internet audio streaming and podcasting.

And so the list of exhibitors and products at SBES2008 continues to
grow. Aspen Media, Oxford Sound Co., Wood and Douglas, Reinhardt,
WinRadio, Nagra, Glensound and many more. A full list of exhibitors,
with direct links to their own web sites is on the SBES2008 web site
at http://www.sbes2008.com
