[cma-l] ‘Working Together’ community radio conference - Cheltenham 1st March 2008

The first 'Working Together' community radio conference is to be held
in Cheltenham on 1st March 2008. This event is an opportunity to
celebrate all the activity that has grown so rapidly across
Gloucestershire and surrounding areas bringing a new approach to
community media.

Guests and speakers will include Jaqui Devereux and Phil Shepherd from
the Community Media Association, Phil Gibbons, Station Manager Bristol
Community FM, and staff from BBC Radio Gloucestershire

During the event there will be workshops in Journalism, Feature
making, scripting, vocal performance, Broadcasting and the law, and
Volunteer support delivered by the senior lecturers from The
University of Gloucestershire Broadcast Journalism course.

There will also be an opportunity to attend a programme clinic by
bringing along a 5 minute clip of your work for advise on what makes a
good radio programme with Andy Vivian from BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

The event is being organised by members of Forest of Dean Community
Radio, which was the first full time community radio station in the
country.

Station Controller Richard Simkin who will Chair the event said ". We
are very much looking forward to meeting other community stations; it
will bring a great chance to share experiences, exchange skills and
plan for the future.  We aim to form a new South West Community
network and make this the first annual conference of its kind."
