Hi All,

Not sure if any other stations have been successful or not, but we
recently secured £317,000 for the five year period of our licence from
the Big Lottery in Scotland.

I'd be happy to forward our successful application to any other
community stations that would like to see it for reference. I could
stick a copy on the Community Radio Toolkit if that would be useful.

As part of the funding we're planning to build a team to support the
development of our community radio station, including a full-time
Station Manager and Administrator.

I'm really keen not to spend an extortionate amount of money advertising
in the mainstream media (although obviously we'll be working to our
equal opps policy).

However, if there 's any potential station managers lurking out there
who are interested in finding out more about this exciting opportunity
prior to it formally being advertised, then please get in touch
(murray at shmu.org.uk - more details about our organisation on
http://www.shmu.org.uk/).

When it goes out the advert will look something like this;

*Community Radio Station Manager*

*Salary: **£24,333 to £26,502***

Station House Media Unit is a volunteer led and managed community media
organisation offering services across the regeneration areas of
Aberdeen, a vibrant city in the north-east of Scotland. Having secured a
5-year FM community radio licence from Ofcom with a five year Big
Lottery award to support it, we are looking for a Station Manager with a
strong interest in community affairs along with being a dynamic team
leader to drive this strand of the projects work forward.

This post is one of the most important in the organisation and combines
the excitement of the project with complex management requirements. If
successful, you will be responsible for dealing with all aspects of the
station's operations and will have proven management skills.
