A big hello to all you listeners out there!

It's been a long time coming, but tomorrow (Oct 20th) at 3pm will see
the /shmu/tastic launch of Aberdeen's first full-time Community Radio
station.

There has been a very special event organised to celebrate this
momentous occasional - starting at 2pm with live broadcasting (on
99.8FM) commencing at 3pm.

A marquee has been organised for the day which will allow us to host an
event that will feature a number of local personalities, performers,
bands, poets and storytellers, as well as some very special mystery
guests from further a field. Throughout the afternoon there will be
food & refreshments available and free entertainment for children. The
event itself will create much of the content for our special launch
party radio programme which will be on air from 3pm till 6pm.

If you can't make it along in person, then why not join us by tuning in
to 99.8FM from 3pm, you'll also be able to contact the station direct
with messages of support by email (studio at shmu.org.uk) or by phoning the
studio on 01224 483413. For those living outside the broadcast range of
North & Central Aberdeen you can still join in the fun by listening
on-line on www.shmufm.net.

celebration time come on, and celebrate...............

All the best

the shmuFM team
