[cma-l] DAB or bust

Hi Roger,

Good to hear from you...!

In Scotland...the BBC is not just a region in the UK but it is only 1 BBC to
serve us here up north. I remember when the English Regions exercise with
CMA was held...Scotland was not included.
So already the outlook is different from English eyes.

In think the radio groups are making sure the CMA stance is kept in the
picture here and so locally for us...it's a different or difficult
situation.
Not only that we have the Highlands and Islands where local radio is
community radio.
Could you imagine BBC London serving all England and no local
representation...well sometimes that's what BBC Scotland feels.

The general vibe here is give back FM to local and ILR and let BBC be the
spring board for Digital...hopefully this will make going to whatever
platform of digital the sector takes...to be more local and cheaper and
easier for groups to be on.

Not sure if this answers the question//

Hi Javed

Just where does BBC as our partner (CMA ) stand on principal of public
access to public service broadcasting.. ?

We should all be sharing a common perspective to the 3 sector broadcast
future shouldn't we?

Questions into the ether....

best wishes &

seasonal clippings to all
